Police on Friday arrested three men in relation to the death of their 20-year-old brother of Lot 317 Belle West, West Bank Demerara.

According to reports, the deceased, Emanuel Solomon and his three brothers had a misunderstanding over a football game about eight months prior. At about 18:30 at the aforementioned address, Solomon was sitting in front of his gap when his three brothers rushed him and started to stab him about his body.

Solomon’s mother said he received several injuries to his body and he fell to the ground. The suspects ran away shortly after stabbing him.

The deceased’s mother and public spirited citizens took him to the West Demerara Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Solomon’s body has since been taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour and is awaiting a Post-Mortem Examination.

Police in a statement said that one of the suspects said that Solomon had hit him with a wood causing him to receive injuries to his face and left hand.

“As a result, he went home and complained to his other two brothers who returned with him and assaulted the deceased. He was then arrested and later escorted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was examined by a Medical Doctor and sent away and is presently in Police custody,” the Police statement said.

Checks made for the other two suspects were unsuccessful.

Investigations are ongoing.
