The appearance of ‘Policia’ on vehicles belonging to the Guyana Police Force must be explained to the population forthwith.

In a country of any consequence, citizens must not wake up to signs on security vehicles without an explanation.

To Editors: Let Election(s) Contestants Speak

It is the duty of a transparent government to present to the population:

-what policy decisions, if any, led to this development ?

-at what forum or level was this decision made?

 -when was the decision made?

-what are the aims or objectives of this policy?

It is regrettable that days have elapsed without a word from the Ministry of Home Affairs or the Guyana Police Force on the reason for this development.

I hereby call on the Government to honor their oath to the people and explain this change which is being funded by the people’s money.

This call is made against the backdrop of rising crime and Guyana facing its most insecure time in decades, this lack of transparency does not help.
