GABON, OIL RICH; 33 % Poverty; Now a COUP
“ LIBREVILLE, Aug 30 (Reuters) – Military officers in oil-producing Gabon said they had seized power on Wednesday, placing President Ali Bongo under house arrest and naming a new leader after the Central African state’s election body announced Bongo had won a third term. Saying they represented the armed forces, the officers declared on television that the election results were cancelled, borders closed, and state institutions dissolved, after a tense vote that was set to extend the Bongo family’s more than half century in power.”
Why is Gabon GDP so high? The country is rich in natural resources such as timber, manganese, and oil. The country is the fifth largest oil producing nation in Africa, which has helped drive its strong growth in the later 20th century. The oil sector now accounts for 50% of GDP and 80% of exports. Population is 2.341 Million (2021). Faced with a 33%poverty rate, the government focuses its social policy on the following three pillars: Establishing integrated social programs for the most vulnerable. Creating income-generating activities for the poorest population groups.
GUYANA, OIL Rich; 7,000 votes, 1 seat majority Government; 39% Poverty; Urgent NEED for a People Centered Government
GUYANA. While, historically, Guyana’s GDP per capita was among the lowest in South America, extraordinary economic growth, averaging 31.7 percent over the last two years, brought real GDP per capita to over US$11,052 in 2021, from US$6,478.3 in 2019. The poverty rate, the share of the population living below the U.S. equivalent of $5.5 a day, is about 38.8 percent, among the highest in the Caribbean and Latin America, according to the United Nations Development Program.
There is an Urgent need for LESS Infrastructures and a more People Centered Caring Government, as over ½ the population are suffering daily to provide food for themselves and families. Some people have resorted to stealing and other crimes including gun holdups, to secure monies for their food. The population is 804,567 (2021) . Teachers, Civil Servants, Pensioners, and People are ALL suffering from very LOW INCOME and HIGH inflation.
Polarised politics, with PPP 5fs, families, friends, favorites, faulty and felonious are very bad for One People, One Nation, One Destiny.
FIVE LIVING Patriots since British Guiana SHOULD be invited, to discuss Guyana’s Strategic Development Plans from their extensive LIVED experiences, for a better way forward for ALL, as UNITED we stand, DIVIDED we fall.
Most of the current PPP Government Officials, were BORN after GUYANA’s Golden Arrowhead was raised, for the first time on May 26, 1966. I was present at the Flag Raising Ceremony with His Worship the Lord Mayor of Georgetown, and Past Speaker of Parliament Rahaman Bacchus Gajraj, CBE. My FIRST of THREE Employers in Guyana to 1979. I chose to work with His Worship and Speaker RBG, to learn and be around people of power and authority to LEARN important lessons, in place of GOING FOR A BIGGER JOB with MUCH MORE PAY. This is planning, while making monetary sacrifices.
President Ali was born in 1980, Prime Minister & 1st. Vice President Mark Anthony Phillips, was born in 1961 and 2nd. Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo was born in 1964
They are many Guyanese Visionaries, Entrepreneurs and Attorneys who are knowledgeable from BRITISH GUIANA to the currently and are ASSETS to ALL Guyana Governments. FEW of these persons are still amongst us, and efforts should be made to seek out their INDIVIDUAL and COLLECTIVE WISE COUNSEL, to assist in Guyana’s development.
FIVE of the people from British Guiana days, as hereunder, and do know they are capable, willing, and able to offer their COUNSEL, for a Guyana for ALL.

At the First Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit on Science & Technology, Astana, Kazakhstan,10-11 September 2017, I would meet His Excellency Dr. Bandar M.H. Hajjar, President, Islamic Development Bank, and President of IsDB Group of 57 member countries. Guyana joined at the 41st. Annual General Meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia, 15-19 May 2016, and became the 57th member.
This was the first time Ambassador Dr. Shamir Ally of Guyana as the First Alternate Governor was meeting with the IsDB Bank President Dr. Hajjar, and I used the blessed opportunity, without knowing at the beginning, when we sat down that the person TO MY LEFT was the IsDB President, a heavenly blessing.
I used the blessed opportunity to explain to the IsDB President, His Excellency Dr. Hajjar about Guyana, and its huge development needs in the USD billions. I also used the Guyana ONE PAGE FLIER for “Show, Tell & Know” BRAND GUYANA campaign, to reinforce the needs, potential and opportunities available in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
This momentous meeting was unplanned but with blessings from Allah, God, Bhagwan, Buddha, Yahweh, Abraham and Obatala (African the King of Peace), guides, will, and graces, miracles can happen. This was the memorable beginning of what would be an amazing achievement and partnership between Guyana and Saudi Arabia, especially with the IsDB investments to help support Guyana

The USD $900 Million CREDIT and GRANT 2018-2022, is for financing and technical assistance for economic infrastructure, rural development, human development, trade, and competitiveness. An accomplishment of this magnitude took herculean COMBINED efforts with Senior Minister of Finance, Minister of Public Infrastructure, and teams in Guyana, First Alternate Governor & Ambassador Dr. Shamir Ally and with the IsDB leadership and project management.
As First Alternate Governor at IsDB and as Ambassador of Guyana in Kuwait, I would make weekly contacts with IsDB decision makers, with continuing maintenance of Relationships, with Patience (SABR), and RESPECT. My personal relationships continue at least once a week, on Thursdays before Friday Jummah and weekend,
When I met His Excellency President Dr. Bandar Hajjar of the IsDB, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Headquarters, I mentioned the idea for AN ITEM from EACH member country at IsDB’s LOBBY, and the President immediately agreed, it was an excellent suggestion.
The next day I sent a request to First Governor at IsDB, Senior Minister of Finance, Hon. Winston Jordan, to kindly secure a “Guyana Woods Plaque” for the lobby of the IsDB Headquarters as a physical symbol of our brotherly and sisterly relationships. Guyana is known for its exquisite woods. In the lobby KUWAIT with a DHOW (boat) and GUYANA with a WOODS Plaque.
