AFC Failed Elitist Take Over of PNC

It takes a special kind of stupid to characterise our Healthcare Sector as one undergoing massive transformation. However, in PPP there are many such, with Dr Ramsammy, Chief Propagandist heading the list. Therefore, with propaganda on the agenda, it’s hardly surprising, he was nominated to propagate the thereunder disinformation piece;

“As Guyana continues to undergo massive transformation in the health sector, the government will be launching a modern pathology laboratory in November”
Mediocrity
Thus, recognising propaganda for what it’s, vociferous were the queries. Is he serious? Is this anachronistic Propagandist serious? Are they serious in boasting of massive transformation in the healthcare sector, with it being the worst in the hemisphere? Are they serious in boasting about a modern pathology laboratory, that can’t deliver the basics? Are they serious, we
question, desperate to be further enlightened on what else the Chief Propagandist, Dr. Ramsammy had to share;
“This[lab] will have equipment that we procured at about close to US$3 million and[with] fully automated pathology labs, that will allow us to prepare all of our specimens right here in Guyana.”
And most imbecilic that piece of, poorly grammatically constructed, propaganda is. For it would appear, our Technologists now preparing their own specimens, is the new international benchmark, of a modern laboratory. However, unlike international modern laboratory, this PPP modern laboratory is  without a Histopathologist. Is without a Haematologist. Is without a Chemical Pathologist. Is without a Microbiologist. In effect, this PPP reference laboratory is without the Specialists and technologies, yet the perennially clueless Ramsammy characterises it as modern, even as he regurgitated more balderdash;
“We don’t have to send them[specimens] anywhere and will allow us to access the expertise of pathologists around the world.”
Thus we query, is the Chief Propagandist getting high on his own supply? Is he drunk on the laboratory ethanol? Drunk in characterising our reference laboratory as modern, even though it’s dependent on overseas histopathologists, in MODERN LABS, to examine our specimens. Can this obsolete antiquate address these questions;
1. Under normal circumstances, are modern labs dependent on other modern labs to read their specimens?
2. Is this his construct of a modern laboratory?
3. Is this PPP construct of a modern laboratory?
Notwithstanding, the hogwash continued;
“To complement this, four health personnel will be sent for training in pathology at Mount Sinai shortly”
The four health personnel Dr Ramsammy failed to identify, what are their portfolios? Actually, they’re four specimen preparing, Medical Technologists. That’s not to disparage these professionals, but suffice to state, they’re not highly specialised histopathologists, employed in modern laboratories. Nevertheless, there was more Ramsammy tripe;
“They would be able to view the specimens and view slides, view tissues using the remote technology that we have introduced.”
OK! OK! So PPP ‘modern lab’ is preparing specimens, to be examined remotely by another modern lab in Mount Sinai. Thus, I will paraphrase; PPP ‘modern lab’ cannot examine their own specimens. Which begs the question, what makes it a modern lab, when it can’t examine and report on its own specimens? What makes it a modern lab, when it’s without Histopathologist? What makes it a modern lab, when  it’s without Chemical Pathologists? What makes it a modern lab, when it’s without Haematologist?  What makes it a modern lab, when it’s without
Microbiologists? In effect, what makes it a modern lab when it’s without the specialists and technologies?
Mark’s Take
Having said that, the writer’s intent shouldn’t be misconstrued, for the writer holds to the position, one must creep before endeavouring to walk. However,  disingenuous it would be, to characterise someone as sprinting, when in actuality they’re toddler creeping.
For PPP reference laboratory, being basic, could be best characterised as toddler creeping. However,  despite this blatant reality, PPP are barefacedly misrepresenting the laboratory and in extension the Health Sector, as being transformed in 3yrs. Thus, these most germane of questions;
1. How could it be modern when Mount Sinai, A MODERN LAB, has to lend their services?
2. How could it be modern when it lacks the aforementioned expertise and technologies?
3. How could it be modern when all in PPP, including Dr Ramsammy, wouldn’t utilise it?
Nonetheless, for the benefit of the reader, this exemplifies a modern laboratory—One with Histopathologists. One with Haematologists. One with Chemical Pathologists. One with Histopathologists.  One with  Microbiologists. That is, one with the prerequisite expertise, along with cutting-edge technologies. However, after 26 failed years, PPP reference laboratory, is one of an image generating computerised software, that electronically shares specimens images with Mount Sinai, along with a solitary microtome machine and tissue processor. And this these cretinous halfwits consider modern. Give me a break!
