Mayor of Georgetown Pt. Ubraj Narine was among distinguished guests who attended the recent Universal of Peace Appointment of Ambassadors sermon. In a statement, Narine said the significant gathering, held by the renowned international organisation, Universal Peace Federation, celebrated the appointment of accomplished individuals as Ambassadors for Peace, recognising their exceptional contributions to promoting peace and fostering harmony across diverse communities.
As an Ambassador for Peace, Mayor Narine distributed a few certificates to new members and in his remarks highlighted that he will continue to collaborate closely with the Universal Peace Federation and fellow ambassadors to promote peace education, advocate for conflict resolution, and drive meaningful change both locally and internationally.

This appointment further solidifies Narine’s position as a prominent advocate for peace and highlights Georgetown’s commitment to being at the forefront of the global peacebuilding movement.
