Former India player Gautam Gambhir has given his backing to West Indies after their painful exit from the ICC World Cup 2023 qualifiers. Scotland defeated the two-time World Champions by 7 wickets in Zimbabwe.

Windies were dismissed for 181 while bathing first. Scotland won the game easily in less than 45 overs. Taking to his official Twitter handle, Gautam opened up on his love for the struggling outfit.

“I love West Indies I love West Indian cricket I still believe they can be the No.1 team in world cricket,” he wrote.

West Indies have been struggling across formats of the game and despite being home to some explosive hitters, they have failed to win important matches. (circtoday)
