20 year-old Guyanese, Aruna Sukhdeo, wins Miss India Worldwide pageant

Miss India Guyana, Aruna Sukhdeo, wins the crown of the prestigious Miss India Worldwide pageant held in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The international pageant took place on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Sukhdeo’s performance had bettered that of her predecessor Maya Persaud, who had placed in the top five when she competed in 2022.

Miss Aruna Sukhdeo competed against 12 other Indian beauties from across the world: Arya Naik, Muskan Jangra, Akanksha Narayan, Khushi Pillai, Anita Minatchy, Aishwarya Dhatingan, Ravina Bola, Dianna Seepersaud, Sukanga Sudhakaran, Sanjana Chekuri, Aarya Walvekar and Swetha Kamnoji.

The last queen to have won the international pageant was Alana Seebarrran in 2012. Eleven years later, the stunning Guyanese beauty, Aruna Sukhdeo, wowed the judges with her outstanding performance to win the coveted title.

After the local pageant, a team led by the reigning Miss International Elegant Mothers winner, Alicia Bess, coached three Guyanese contestants. The local franchise is held by Hashim Ali and his wife, Melicia Ali.The stunning 20-year-old Miss India Guyana – Aruna Sukhdeo was honoured with the International title of Miss India Worldwide 2023 in Pune, India, making it the second Guyanese to win this prestigious crown in 30 years.

She outshines her competition and not only captures the crown but is also awarded Miss Beautiful Hair, a special title award. Aruna is a third-year Economic Student at the University of Guyana.

The young female was seen wearing a violet and olive green coloured lehnga choli as she raised the Guyanese flag at the international stage after winning the prestigious title and crown.

Miss Teen India Guyana Netu Lall also made Guyana proud by placing 1st Runner up in the Teen category while being awarded Miss Congeniality. Mrs India Guyana Reanna Arakhan also did a splendid job by making it into the top five, being the second Guyanese. (WIC News).
