Guyana’s Oil Wealth Must Create Real Opportunities for Young People- APNU

The A Partnership of National Unity (APNU) candidate, Mr. Winston Harding, won Constituency 13 in the Georgetown municipality at Monday, June 12,  Local Government Elections.
Members of the Ruimveldt Transformation Group, who were part of the campaign team,  returned to voters on Tuesday to say “Thank you.”
The boundaries for Constituency 13 are west of Hunter Street, east of Mandela Avenue, south of Mandela Avenue and north of the Laing Avenue Canal and East LaPenitence Canal.
Among those retracing their steps, reaching out to those who made Harding’s victory possible, were Member of Parliament, Ms. Annette Ferguson, and former Member of Parliament, Ms. Lurlene Nestle.
Pounding the streets, undeterred by the hot sun, they returned, street by street and  embraced voters, hugged babies, listened to and shared anecdotes, and offered words of encouragement.
Ferguson told Village Voice News, Harding’s victory could not have been possible without the voters and she feels it was fitting to return to acknowledge those who made it possible. “We asked the residents for their votes and we have a responsibility to return and say, thank you.”
