His Worship Mayor Pt. Ubraj Narine of Georgetown joined with the Guyana LGBTQ Coalition, comprising the forces of Guyana Trans United (GTU), Sexualities, Women and Genders (SWAG), and SASOD (Guyana) on their Pride Parade as they continue to shine a spotlight on the struggles and unwavering resilience of the LGBTIQ+ community in Guyana and the wider Caribbean.

Guyana, Türkiye move to strengthen parliamentary cooperation

The parade which was held last Saturday saw a wide-cross section of participants among whom was Mr. Daniel Seeram, Regional Chairman, Regional Democratic Council Region Four.

Pride month is usually observed in June and is dedicated to celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride. The month has been placed on the calendar to honour the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, United States of America (USA). Since then the event is observed throughout the USA and other parts of the world.
