The Alliance for Change (AFC) extends to all Guyanese greetings as we celebrate Arrival Day today.

Our dear land of Guyana has been enhanced by the history, culture and cuisine of six peoples who today form this vibrant nation of one people, one nation forging one destiny.

The intellect and achievements in every professional and vocational sphere of this collective continues to inspire us all. Guyana truly would not be Guyana without this exciting diversity melted into one pot.

Today in these challenging times when there appears to be an increase in racial intolerance, we must ensure that these wonderful attributes, among others, must always be utilized to continually fashion and work out sensible methods of sharing and co-existing with the other ethnic groups.

Our recently found wealth and rapidly developing oil and gas industry creates untold opportunities for all our peoples and must be distributed fairly and equally to ensure the prosperity of all Guyanese.

The Alliance For Change sees the need for introspection at this time of celebration and remains committed to the hope and aspirations of our indigenous people and all who arrived here forcibly or by choice.

Happy Arrival Day!
