On the occasion of Arrival Day 2023, I wish to extend a Happy Arrival Day to all Guyanese as we recognise our East Indian brothers and sisters’ contribution to building our nation.
We appreciate our ancestor’s resilience, sacrifices, and struggles when they arrived in our nation and we acknowledge the achievements of our brothers and sisters throughout time as they contributed to the major growth and development of the City of Georgetown and holistically, Guyana.
As we celebrate Arrival Day as an independent sovereign, we must pay attention to the challenges we face today and reflect on the triumphs of yesterday. Our ancestors were a clear example of standing up for what’s right regardless of the struggles they faced. We as a people must stand our ground as one people, one nation with one destiny, reaffirm inclusivity, and cohesiveness, and must most importantly love All our Guyanese people.
