Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Aubrey Norton, at a press conference said, in a recent visit to the community of Samville, Kuru Kururu, he had the opportunity to walk around the community and experienced first-hand the terrible state of the roads in the community.
According to Norton “ the roads are impassable, and residents are forced to pay high fares to get into the community. And in many cases, having paid the high fares, they have to get out of the vehicle and walk because of the impassable state of the roads.”
Many residents have expressed concern that though they were promised by the government to have the roads done, nothing has happened. They also complained that it is very difficult for the children who have to walk to school and call on the government to ensure that the roads are done. They noted that while the government is redoing roads that have already been done, the roads in Samville were never done.
In addition, residents lamented the fact that apart from the bad roads, there is no electricity in a large part of the community and demand that the government ensures that they are afforded this basic necessity.
