Five persons residing in Agricola, East Bank Demerara, were on Friday awarded some $23.2 million in contracts to execute low-level drainage works in the community. The project has a deadline of one month.

Each of the contractors are expected to hire residents of the community to execute the project. They were told by Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, to ensure they do the work properly, treat workers fairly and give them fair wages.
