Persons will recall that Guyanese were all taken by surprise by the revelations of an interview conducted by renowned news agency, Vice News from the United States of America.  It was alleged that Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Vice President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, was involved in corrupt business deals with Chinese businessman, Su Zhirong. The recording came to the public’s attention a little more than a year ago, in February 2022.

After these damming allegations, it was reported Mr. Jagdeo publicly stated he would sue, “Jagdeo says to sue Mr. Su over VICE bribe-taking claims,” Stabroek News, June 20, 2022.

It is one year since the exposure and the nation is still waiting to see Mr. Jagdeo and Mr. Su have their day in Court. Meanwhile, Mr. Jagdeo continues to represent the Government of Guyana, locally and internationally, on matters of great financial interest and value to this nation.

As a national leader with constituents, many questions, including the Jagdeo/Su gate saga, are put to me by members of society who are entitled to answers to these egregious acts.

Through this page, I am asking Mr. Jagdeo to provide answers to the following questions:

  1. Has Mr. Zhirong been sued by you, Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo? If so,
  2. Kindly make public copies of the documents filed and advise
  3. When is this urgent matter scheduled to be heard?
