A 32-year-old identified as Lisa Charran was allegedly stabbed to death by her partner on New Year’s Day in Suriname.

Surinamese police reported that it received a call of a stabbing taking place on the Koendjbihariweg in New Amsterdam.

“Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement found a female of Guyanese descent bathed in blood on the garage floor with a sharp object in her right hand. The victim showed no sign of life. A doctor officially confirmed the victim’s death,” police reported.

Police said Charran’s death was witnessed by her three children, which included a 10-year-old.

A manhunt is ongoing for Charran’s partner.
