Guyana Participates in Regional Biological Weapons Convention Workshop in Trinidad

Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is in Guyana on an official Visit. Dr. Gonsalves arrived on Monday evening in the company of President Irfaan Ali after both leaders left Brazil where they had attended the inauguration of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
During the four days visit, the leaders are expected to have wide ranging discussions on areas of cooperation among other matters.
Gonsalves — a lawyer and seasoned politician is the longest serving Head of Government since his country gained independence in 1979, having been elected to office in the 2001 general election.
Gonsalves has written and published numerous essays and academic papers on various topics including political science, trade unionism, and international relations.
