Release Warehouse Transport Group Guyana, a third-party logistics service provider, has entered the local market and will bring several joint business ventures to Guyana’s burgeoning oil and gas sector.
At the official launch on Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WTG Ryan Burrowes revealed that his company has partnered with Nova Scotian company Lindsay Construction and local engineering firm E&A Consultants to build and operate a state-of-the-art cold storage facility.
The investment, which is pegged at US$45 million, will open many supply chains to the Caribbean and also create bilateral trade between Guyana and New Brunswick, Canada.
“I started Warehouse Group in 2016 after 10 years in the transportation and warehousing world after it became evident to me that it was time to take control of my future and that of my young and growing family,” the CEO said.
He added, “Our goal with WTG Guyana is to empower the people of Guyana with employment, training, and healthy salaries paired with a sustainable future.”
In addition to cold storage, WTG Guyana Inc. works with Atlantic Towing, a subsidiary of J.D Irving Limited, Canada’s largest offshore supply vessel operator. WTG and Atlantic Towing will supply Guyana’s oil and gas sector with service vessels, supply ships, and barges.
This is Atlantic Towing’s first entry into Guyana. Atlantic Towing is a global leader in supply vessels and operations; WTG Guyana is proud to bring forth this partnership that will not only benefit the business in Canada and Guyana but will also provide training and employment to the people of Guyana.
