She hails from Linden, Region 10 and appears in Black Panther and Black Panther:Wakanda Forever. Whilst she may not be playing the leading role like Letitia Wright, she is nonetheless, like Letitia, 100 per cent born in this land. As they would say her ‘navel string buried here.’

32-year-old Shaunette Renée Wilson, who migrated to the United States at age two, is part of the all-female elite Dora Milaje special forces unit. According to the Marvel comic the all-female guards for the Black Panther in the modern era, known as the “Adorned Ones” are one of the most formidable fighting forces in the world, willing to sacrifice everything to protect Wakanda and its people. The women warriors are said to also serve as wives-in-training for the king.

“The world of Wakanda, a technologically advanced society with a deep history and culture, prides itself on tradition, honour, courage, and strength. There is no greater symbol of that strength than Wakanda’s leader, the Black Panther. But protection of that symbol is assigned to the Dora Milaje—a team of women serving as Wakanda’s special forces.”

Apart from acting in Black Panther, Shaunette starred as one of the leads on the Fox medical drama ‘The Resident’ as Dr. Mina Okafor. Her character exited after four seasons. Okafor’s departure came when she opted to return to Nigeria rather than be deported by the hands of Dr. Cain, who found out she had planned to testify against him. According to the producers, the manner in which the character exited allows for her return to the show anytime.

She also appeared in the Showtime series, ‘Billions’ (2016) and the drama film, ‘A Kid Like Jane’ (2018)

Shaunette recently joined the cast of the action-adventure  ‘Indiana Jones 5’ which is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 30,2023.

In 2015 Shaunette won the Grace LeVine Theater Award, named for a niece of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco.

Shaunette Renée Wilson is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, one of America’s ivy league universities.

Let’s big her up too!
