WIC- Trinbago Knight Riders made history by becoming the winners of the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2022 on September 4 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts, Basseterre. 

Barbados Royals Women won the toss & opted to field.

Deandra Dottin (captain) smashes the first maximum of the final, and TKR are at 55/2 (12 overs).

Knight Riders made a score of 100/7 by the end of the innings. Barbados Royals required 101 runs to win the WCPL 2022.

After the end of TKR’s batting, captains of both teams were leading, with Deandra Dottin making a score of 59 off 62 balls while Hayley Matthews took three wickets.

The Knight Riders won the match by ten runs.

A captain’s knock from Deandra Dottin, along with bowling brilliance from Anisa Mohammed, led the Trinbago Knight Riders to a 10-run victory against Barbados Royals to see them crowned as winners of the inaugural Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).

The 2022 Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), also known as Massy WCPL 2022, was the tournament’s inaugural season and is a domestic Twenty20 women’s cricket tournament played in the West Indies. The matches took place from August 31 to September 4, 2022, in St Kitts. The game was preceded by a T10 cricket tournament, also known as The 6ixty.

Barbados Royals Women: Hayley Matthews (captain), Shakera Selman (vice-captain), Fatima Sana, Chloe Tryon, Snigdha Paul, Reneice Boyce, Mandy Rangru, Britney Cooper, Aaliyah Alleyne, Shanika Bruce, Afy Fletcher, Qiana Joseph, Japhina Joseph, Chinelle Henry

The Knight Riders, who earlier lost the final match of the inaugural SKYEXCH 6IXTY against the Barbados Royals, now have their counterattack.
