Bartica school girl nabbed with ganja in socks

A Grade 7 student of Bartica was on Wednesday found with ganja stashed in socks, police have reported.

Enquiries disclosed that around 1pm Thursday in Bartica acting Head Mistress of the said school received information that students from Grade 7 were in class with narcotics.

As a result, she carried out a search and unearthed two zip lock transparent plastic bag containing cannabis concealed in the socks of a 12-year-old female student.

The student was questioned and she related that she got the cannabis from her friend, another 12-year-old female student of the said class  who claimed that she stole it from her father.

The father was contacted and admitted that he had the cannabis since he smokes “weed”.

They were all interview and sent away to return at 10:00 hrs on 2022-06-23 to be escorted to the Childcare and Protection Agency.
