According to the victim, on the said date she went to Scotia Bank on Carmichael Street where she withdrew G$1,200,000 cash from the company’s account and placed same into a brown envelope.

She related that upon entering her motorcar which was being driven by a 29-year-old male of Hadfield Street, Lodge, she placed same into the glove compartment.

The 30-year-old woman told detectives that she spent G$600,000 and placed the remaining $600,000 back into the said glove compartment.

The victim further claimed that she, along with the driver, went to Church Street a short distance away from Waterloo Street, where the driver parked and secured the motorcar, leaving everything intact.

They subsequently went to Regent Street to continue shopping and upon their return the victim noticed that the left side quarter glass was broken and the car opened.

She immediately made checks for the money but only the brown envelope was seen.

The police were informed and visited the scene where the car was dusted for prints by crime scene ranks.

Investigations are ongoing.
