The Ministry of Education has commenced a series of consultations
with stakeholders in the education sector to assess the development of the sector and
conceptualize recommendations to enhance its transformation. These consultations will also assess the progress of the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand explained that,”the purpose of the exercise is to examine all that has happened over the last two and half years. This includes schools’ closure, measures to safely reopen
schools and plans to transform the education sector.”

During the session which was chaired by Mr Marti Desouza, Deputy Chief Education
