Venezuelan stabbed to death

Police in Region One are investigating an alleged murder that occurred on Friday night at Port Kaituma.
Dead is Felipe Galaviz, a Venezuelan national by another Venezuelan national.

Police said the incident occurred on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Oronoque, Port Kaituma, NWD at about 23:30hrs and reported to the police on Saturday, April 16, 2022) at 00:45hrs.

Ranks from the Mabaruma Police Station were deployed to the scene.

Enquiries thus far revealed that the 19-year-old suspect came home and met his wife and the victim consuming alcohol.
An argument ensued among them which led to a confrontation and the victim was subsequently stabbed to his neck/shoulder by the suspect.

Galaviz was rushed to the Port Kaituma Hospital where he was treated but succumbed to his injuries.

Five persons, inclusive of the wife of the suspect are in custody, assisting with the ongoing investigations.

Police are currently looking for the suspect, who fled the scene.
