Chavion Jupiter: A grieving mother

A 21-year-old West Berbice man lost in his life when the motorcycle  he was riding crashed into the rear of a minibus on the #8 Village Public Road West Coast Berbice around 11:30hrs on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Devon McAlmont of Number 10 Village who was  popularly known as Lil Boy.
Reports stated that McAlmont was riding a motorcycle in an easterly direction on the northern side of the public  road when he hit the back of a minibus which was travelling in the same direction and had apparently stopped to pick up passengers.
He was picked  up bleeding profusely from injuries to his head and neck  and in  an unconscious  condition.
He was rushed to the Fort Wellington Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Relatives said that the young man who is a father of two was on an errand for his employer at the time of the accident.
His grieving mother Mrs Chavion Jupiter told Village Voice News that she  is a single parent mother of seven and her son, the eldest of his siblings, had always been supportive in the welfare of herself and his younger siblings.
“He was a farmhand and a  hard working young man. His last words to me were: “mommy I going and do this run for the boss man. I coming back just now,” she said.
The body has been  taken to a local mortuary pending a post mortem examination.
The driver of the mini bus is  helping the Police with their investigations into the  fatal accident.
