—wanted bulletin issued for 27-year-old suspect
A fight over money owed at the Route 44 Bus-Park, Commerce Street, Georgetown ended in death Wednesday morning. And a 27-year-old suspect is now being sought by the police.
Dead is 30-year-old Morven Nurse – a bus conductor of Haslington, East Coast Demerara. His suspected murderer, Paul Junior Lynch is wanted by the police. The Guyana Police Force, in a statement on Wednesday, said Nurse was fatally stabbed at around 11:00hrs shortly after a fight broke out at the popular minibus park. Initially, the men were arguing but situation escalated when Lynch armed himself with a brown-handled knife.
“They then began to pelt each other with empty beer bottles and bricks before the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife to his left side chest,” the police reported. Nurse ran a short distance before collapsing to the ground, while the suspect escaped in a minibus. The injured was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He died while undergoing surgery.
“His body is presently lying at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination,” the police said. In a separate statement, the police issued a wanted bulletin for Lynch, whose last known address is listed as Lot 1276 Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara.
