Man killed by aircraft propellor at Kamarang

An accident on the runway at the Kamarang airstrip has resulted in the death of a 29 -year- old man.

Reports are that around 3pm on Friday, Nigel Rodrigues went to offload items from the plane, a Cessna Caravan operated by Air Services Limited , when he walked around from the back to the front of the aircraft. At the time the propellor was still running and it came into contact with the man’s torso, killing him instantly.

The incident was reported to the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Similar incidents have occured in the past at aerodromes across the Hinterland.
