Unvaccinated Palms staff locked out

Staff of the Palms Geriatric Home on Brickdam, Georgetown who are not COVID-19 vaccinated and could not present a negative PCR test were locked out of the health facility on Wednesday morning.

Several of the staff stood in a group just outside the gate in hopes of entry. Meanwhile, other persons visiting the health facility who could not provide a vaccination card or negative PCR test taken within the last seven days were also refused entry by security personnel.

The act is in keeping with the COVID-19 Emergency Measures which took effect September 4, 2021. It states that to enter any public building — meaning a building to which the public has lawful access — persons must present the aforementioned documents.
