Telephone Giant, GTT has signed a three-year contract with STEMGuyana to the tune of $3M to support the organisation in its efforts in creating technology solutions for problems across Guyana.

GTT’s Marketing Director, Clarence Perry who cemented the contract said the company is happy to continue its support to the STEMGuyana team. “Over the years, we have supported the team on a number of projects. GTT is big on innovation, which is one of our core promises to Guyanese- to innovate for all of Guyana. So, we are delighted to join the team in a three-year partnership, and we look forward to their inventions,” Perry said according to a GTT release.

Director of STEMGuyana, Karen Abrams said the team is excited to join with GTT in the three-year partnership to bring innovative technology education to children across Guyana. “GTT has supported STEMGuyana on many projects and this three-year deal is a culmination of our years of project partnerships. Together GTT & STEMGuyana will bring innovation, opportunity, and inspiration to Guyana’s children as we prepare them for Guyana’s technology future,” Abrams expressed.
Only recently the STEMGuyana team took the spotlight at the International Youth Robotics Competition in Korea by copping gold, silver and bronze medals by its junior team and twin bronze medal by its two senior teams. This was the second year Guyana participated in the IYRC.

Guyana is also fielding another senior team currently in competition at the First Global Robotics competition of 175 countries globally. Team Guyana 2021 is presently tracking 9th place out of 175 teams with opportunities to raise its ranking before the end of the competition in October
