A 20-year-old male from Linden is being sought by the police after shooting another Linden man in his knee on Monday. According to reports, the 20-year-old and a 38-year-old male had ongoing issues which resulted in previous altercations.
On Tuesday, the suspect was taunted by the 20-year-old and his friends as they walked through the Block 22 Wismar. Linden area. They shouted the suspect’s name and laughed.
Then, at about 19:00hrs, the 20-year-old was with his friends watching a movie when the suspect, who was dressed in a long blue skirt, a grey jacket and a gold-coloured wig, walked up to them, whipped out a small handgun from his waist and discharged three rounds in their direction. This saw the victim being hit on his right knee area.
The suspect then ran off and was chased by the 20-year-old. He was observed pulling off the wig and making good his escape. The victim was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was seen by a doctor on duty, treated and discharged.
Acting on information received, ranks went to the suspect’s home and while approaching the said house, the suspect was seen running shirtless down into a dark gully area and making good his escape. Investigations are ongoing.
