COVID deaths over 570

…August deaths close to 30 thus far, new cases over 100

Deaths for the month of August have risen to 24 as of August 12 bringing the total to 570 deaths, with over 400 deaths occurring in 2021 alone.

For August thus far, there were 12 deaths from Region Four, 4 from Region Six, 3 from Region Ten, 2 each from Regions Three and Five and 1 from Region Two.

Meanwhile, for the year thus far, the number of COVID-19 related deaths per month are as follows: January – 13; February – 20; March – 36; April – 66; May – 98; June – 79; July – 68 and 24 as of August 12.

As of August 13, there were 100 new cases and 14 persons in the COVID-19 ICU. A total of 761 were in home isolation, 86 were in institutional isolation and 5 were in institutional quarantine.

For the month thus far, 16 females have died compared to 8 males.

The youngest to die this month was a 26-year-old male from Region Three compared to a 16-year-old male last month.
