UNICEF Documentary- benefits of instilling positive discipline

The debates about whether to spank or not spank children are ongoing. The older generation count on the biblical reference of not sparing the rod and spoiling the child. Some would even argue that they are who they are today because of the whipping they received from their parents and teachers. Behind the spanking or not sparing the rod is the desire to train up children in the way they should grow, in the hope that when they grow older, they will not depart from such training and be productive and well-mannered adults.

Discipline is still a function of training the child but there has been a call for a new approach. This documentary role plays the administering of positive discipline to children and its benefit to child development.  Watch
