Man charged for stealing 23 cows

A labourer from Dartmouth, Essequibo Coast was charged on Tuesday for stealing 23 cows valued at $3.5M from a property from the same area.

Appearing before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrates Court was Dexwayne Evans called ‘Packa’.

He was arrested last Wednesday and charged on Tuesday. He stole from Bernice Sooklall Rodrigues between March 10 – 12 at Cozier Backdam, Essequibo Coast.

Before the court, Evans pleaded not guilty and was placed on $50,000.00 bail. The matter was postponed to April 19 and transferred to the Charity Magistrates Court.
