50-year-old Anna Regina man found dead

A 50-year-old man, Deodat Persaud, from Anna Regina who suffered from epilepsy was found dead on Tuesday causing a police investigation into the matter.

According to reports, Persaud was a Ranger attached to the Queenstown Neighbourhood Democratic Council and of Anna Regina Housing Scheme Essequibo Coast.

According to the deceased’s nephew, Mohindar Persaud, he went to make his usual weekly check on his uncle on Tuesday at about 15:40 hours when he discovered the body of the deceased.

Inquiries disclosed that the deceased, who lives alone, suffered from epilepsy. He died sometime between Saturday and Tuesday at Anna Regina Essequibo Coast.

A neighbour reports that she last saw the deceased alive on the morning of Saturday, March 20, 2021. No marks of violence were found by police and an investigation in progress
