Linden man nabbed with firearm after threatening child mother

Police, on Tuesday, arrested 47-year-old Linden businessman, Toriano Jeffers, after a report was made by his child’s mother, Amanda Mitchell, that he had threatened her.

At about 18:00 hours, the police visited Jeffers’ home at Lot 556 Block 22, Wismar, Linden. Upon their arrival, Jeffers attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.

A search was conducted on his person but nothing was found. A search was then conducted in the haversack he was carrying on his back and one suspected .32 silver and black LORGIN L390 pistol with serial# 243966 was found with one magazine inserted. The haversack also contained two .38 ammunition.

Jeffers was arrested and escorted to the McKenzie Police Station along with the firearm, magazine and ammunition. He is presently in custody pending charges.
