Police in a statement said that the man had no fixed place of abode.
His body was found on Tuesday March 16, 2021 under a shed on the Kaieteur News premises in Saffon Street, La Penitence by a staffer of the said entity.

Initial investigations led to the arrest of the two security persons as detectives pursued the murder angle.

On Friday a post mortem with dissection was performed on the body in the presence of police by Dr. Nehaul Singh who gave the cause of death as brain haemorrhage due to blunt trauma to the head. His body has been handed over to relatives for cremation.

Police said Friday evening the guards were  formally charged with the capital offence. They will be processed for court on Monday March 22, 2021.
