Six held for cocaine-in- salted fish bones

Six persons have been arrested after the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) intercepted a quantity of cocaine stuffed in salted fish bones at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on Monday.

The bust occurred Monday morning. CANU said in a release that the interception took place at a Cargo Shed at CJIA Timheri. According to CANU ranks unearthed 280 pieces of plastic wrapped pencil shaped parcels of the suspected cocaine hidden in the bones of salted fish intended for export. The cocaine weighed a total 3.304 kilograms.
