Artsunac partners with Century 21 to improve Guyana’s real estate sector

Artsunac, a local matrix group providing specialised professional businesses services, has teamed up with Century 21, an American real estate agent franchise company, to improve Guyana’s real estate sector.

At a small press conference on Wednesday, the two companies spoke of their plans to ensure that Guyanese benefit the most from the collaboration. According to Managing Partner at Artsunac, Gavin Alleyne, the companies will be making real estate opportunities in Guyana more visible — local and abroad — through technology. The move is likely to increase transactions and efficiency by making properties more visible and ensuring adherence to property rights.

“We’re looking at where this country is going from a developmental standpoint, we see a lot over the horizon, we want to be forward-thinking, we want to at least ensure that we have a system in place that’s better and that can handle transactions that are multi-jurisdiction and ensure that our locals are benefitting from the infrastructure that we’re looking to put together,” Alleyne said.

Meanwhile, Century 21’s real estate industry and business development specialist Afa Jamal Zada said: “A lot of Guyanese are asking how can we purchase the land or how can we buy an apartment or house…we need the structure to help and we’re trying to make these transactions more easy.” Since 1971, the CENTURY 21 brand has been offering independent brokers, entrepreneurs and affiliated agents its services.

Accountant working along with Artsunac, Dacia Solomon said that her role in the partnership is to ensure that Guyanese assets are properly priced and that Guyanese benefit. “We hate to see that our economy be crushed or just be submerged by an influx of foreign investors and we’re not prepared to handle that influx…our partnership with Century 21 with all the foreign investors that are looking to Guyana I think it’s going to be a great union that we can definitely add value in that space,” she said.

Bringing some 30 years of experience in Information Technology work, Roger John — working along with the companies — will create avenues for the real estate sector to become more easily accessible online; to be improved through technology and more secure when it comes to data protection. Apart from this, in December 2020, Artsunac, Alleyne and Alleyne Business Practitioners partnered with the Government to sign a contract for a Hilton Embassy Suites in Guyana. The US$100M hotel will be named the ‘El Dorado Embassy Suites’ and will climb to 17-21 floors. It will provide 150-200 rooms; 90 executive suites and 2 ultra-luxury suites.

The project will commence in 2021 taking approximately 18-24 months to be completed. At the time of opening, some 300 local employees are expected to be hired.
