A Meadow Brook man and his reputed wife were on Tuesday arrested by Police for the discovery of 137.3 grams of cannabis and disorderly behavior respectively.
According to Police, at about 13:30h acting on information received, ranks from Regional Division 4 ‘A’ visited a house located at Bamboo Drive Meadow Brook. Upon arrival, a 34-year-old unemployed man of the said address was seen throwing a black, bulky plastic bag into a trench neat the house.
The bag was retrieved and it contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. The content of the bag was shown to the suspect and he was told of the offence, after which he was arrested.
Police said during the arrest, “the suspect’s reputed wife and about six other females began to behave disorderly in an effort to have the suspect released”.
“In doing so, a Police Constable who was part of the operation, lost the Force’s Body Camera which was in his possession,” Police reported.
Investigations are ongoing.
