8-year-old Henrietta boy injured after running into path of motorcycle

An 8-year-old boy of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast (Region Two) on Monday sustained injuries to his boy after he reportedly ran out of a yard into the path of a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was driven by 24-year-old Jason Jones, a Miner, of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast.

According to reports, at about 17:30h, Jones was riding along the Henrietta Access road while the child was in a yard located on the western side of the road.

“The pedestrian ran out of the said yard into the path of motorcycle where he collided with the motor cycle and fell onto the road surface. He was picked up in a conscious condition by public spirited persons and conveyed to the Suddie Public Hospital were he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who admitted him a patient at the said hospital for a fracture right arm and laceration to his face and body,” Police said in a statement.

Jones is in Police custody assisting with investigations.
