…congratulates newly sworn-in US President
United States (U.S.) Ambassador to Guyana, Sarah-Ann Lynch has congratulated President Joe Biden on being sworn-in as the 46th president of the U.S. and has stated that she looks forward to building stronger relations with Guyana under the Administration.
The U.S. Ambassador posted a throw-back photo on the U.S. Embassy Guyana’s Facebook page on Wednesday along with a caption to show her support.
“On my inaugural flight to Guyana in March 2019, I was congratulated by President Biden as we flew together on the first leg of my journey. Today, it is my honor to congratulate him on becoming the 46th President of the United States. I look forward to continued conversations with the Biden administration about building ever-stronger U.S.-Guyana relations,” Ambassador Lynch said.
She was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on January 2, 2019 and sworn in on March 1, 2019 as Ambassador to Guyana under the Donald Trump Administration.
Following this month’s storming of the U.S. Capitol Building, Lynch said that the act does not represent democratic values and assured the public an “orderly transition to a new administration” would take place.
Lynch has over 25 years of experience with the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), having served as acting Assistant Administrator for USAID’s Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean.
