Werk-en-rust resident found with firearm and ammunition

A .32 Taurus Millennium Pistol with a magazine containing four live .32 ammunition was found by police in the home of a Werk-en-rust resident on Sunday.

According to the police report, at about 11:30 hours on Sunday, acting on information received, the police went to D’Urban and Cross Streets, Werk-en-rust, where ranks saw a male who ran into an apartment and gave chase.

The man was captured in the apartment and a search was conducted but nothing was found on person. Thereafter, the apartment was searched and the weapon and ammunition were found.

The suspect was told of the offence committed, arrested and cautioned after which he was processed and placed in custody pending charge
