Kuru Kururu man perishes in East Bank accident

A 47-year-old man, Lester Williams, has died following a fatal accident on Sunday involving his car and a parked motor lorry on the Soesdyke Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

The police have launched an investigation into the accident. According to reports, about 02:00 hours Williams was driving a silver-grey motor car #HC 8750 north along the western side of Soesdyke Public Road. Reports state that he was driving at a fast rate of speed when he lost control and collided with a motor lorry which was parked on the western side of the said road facing south.

It resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles and Williams received injuries about his body. He was picked up by Police and public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead on arrival. The deceased was a resident of Kuru Kururu on the Soesdyke Linden Highway.
