Charlotte Street man found with revolver and matching rounds near Harbour Bridge

Police have arrested a 61-year-old Charlotte Street, Bourda, Georgetown man after he was found with a .38 revolver and five matching rounds in the vicinity of the the Demerara Harbour Bridge on Thursday.

In a statement, the Police said that at the time of the discovery, the man was driving a car when a party of Policemen drawn from CID Headquarters, and lead by an officer, observed him acting in a suspicious manner and decided to stop him and conduct a search on his person and the vehicle he was driving.

The man is currently assisting with investigations.
