Tain family of six homeless after fire destroyed home

A family of six persons residing at Tain Settlement, East Berbice-Corentyne (Region Six) are homeless after fire destroyed their home this afternoon.

Among the homeless are four children aged 12, 10, 6 and 4.
Owner of the home Jagdeo Ramoutar told Village Voice News that the fire started at about 15:30h in the upper flat of their two-storey concrete and wooden home.

The Guyana Fire Service is at the scene and is trying to quell the blaze.
