Police destroy more than 3000 cannabis plants and makeshift camp in Canje River

Police on Wednesday destroyed more than 3000 cannabis plants and a makeshift camp at Torani Canal, Canje River, Berbice.

During a narcotics eradication and a cordon and search operation which lasted more than nine hours, the Police ranks under the command of two gazette officers found 193 live cartridges, 3.27 kilograms of processed cannabis, 8.27 kilograms of cannabis seeds, two plots of cannabis cultivation with more than three thousand plants measuring between four to six feet in height and a makeshift camp.

In a statement, police said a search is on the way for the man, in whose house the processed cannabis, cannabis seeds and ammunition were found.
