GWI distributes 270 ‘hot meals’ in Regions Four and Six

Minister of Housing and Water Collin Croal gives a hot meal to a resident of Region Six.

The Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) on Tuesday hosted its first Holiday Hot Meal initiative in Central Georgetown (Region Four) and New Amsterdam, East Berbice – Corentyne (Region Six).

Some 150 hot meals and beverages were distributed in Region Four while 120 were distributed in Region Six.
Ministers of Housing and Water, Collin Croal and Susan Rodrigues joined GWI’s mobile GWI team and assisted in the distribution of the meals and beverages in the vicinity of the New Amsterdam market.

In Georgetown, GWI’s team included Executive Director of Human Resources Management and Development, Elvis Jordon, Executive Director of Corporate Services, Nigel Niles and other staff. They distributed the meals in the vicinity of the Bourda market.
The initiative is a collaborative one among the Company, Management and Board of Directors.

In a statement, GWI said it takes pride in its quest to fulfill its corporate social responsibility by, among other initiatives, giving back to communities.
