Eye Lash Backdam miner stabbed by known suspect during argument

A 53-year-old miner of Eye Lash Backdam, North West District (Region One) was on Tuesday stabbed to his right chest with a wood which contained a sharpened instrument by a man he had an argument with.

The victim has been identified as Thomas James.
According to Police, at about 07:00h, James and the suspect, who are known to each other, were arguing when the suspect armed himself with a piece of wood with a sharpened instrument attached to it and dealt James a stab to his right chest.

The 53-year-old man bled profusely while falling to the ground. He was picked up by his 26-year-old daughter and rushed to the Pakera District Hospital, Matthew’s Ridge where he was admitted as a patient.

James’ condition is regarded as stable.

Investigations are ongoing.
