Based on the police report, the child lives with her 25-year-old mother and her grandparents.  The child’s mother and father have been separated for some time, however, the father was given visitation rights, and as such, he collects her every Sunday.

On Sunday, December 13, 2020 at around 8:00hrs, the man informed his ex-partner that he would uplift his daughter, and the mother reportedly prepared the child for pick her.

According to mother, the six year-old girl was left playing in the yard.

“At the time, the child’s grandmother was at her home doing house chores and last saw her about 11:30hrs,” the police said.

It was not until 12:30, when calls by the grandfather went unanswered, that they realized the little girl was missing.

As a result, a search party was immediately formed by relatives and friends who combed the entire area. “About 14:00hrs, during the search the child’s grandfather found her submerged in a swampy area, about five hundred feet away from the house, covered in mud,” the police reported.

The six-year-old girl was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where she was seen and examined by a doctor, who admitted her as a patient. Later, she was referred to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where she is presently admitted and is undergoing treatment.

Investigations are ongoing, the police said.
