
Guyana’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations (UN), Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, on Monday, formally presented her Letters of Credence to Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres.
Rodrigues-Birkett, the first female and indigenous person appointed as Permanent Representative of Guyana to the UN, has been accredited the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Monday’s ceremony finalized the accreditation process which followed a virtual accreditation held on October 2, 2020.
