Mahdia bridge crumbles under weight of truck

A bridge along the roadway between the Tumatumari Junction and the town of Mahdia in Region Eight crumbled under the weight of a truck around midday on Tuesday.

Reports are that no one was seriously injured when the truck fell into a ravine as the bridge collapsed under its weight.

The bridge is located in the vicinity of ‘Tiger Creek’ , some 20 to 30 minutes outside of  Mahdia. Reports are that the truck was heading to the Region Eight when the accident occured.Efforts are being undertaken to remedy the situation in order for traffic to flow.
